The Story

Double Trouble is built around two subjects moving through the same wild surface with completely different energy than everything happening around them.

The original layers are intentionally busy—gold and copper leaf, botanicals, shimmer, texture, marks crossing over one another—but the pair never gets lost inside it. If anything, all that movement makes them feel more certain.

That’s what gives this piece its personality. Two figures, one rhythm, surrounded by enough visual noise to derail almost anything else.

Instead, they look completely at home.

There’s humor in it, but also something collectors tend to notice the longer they look: the piece changes depending on where your eye lands. First the pair. Then the materials. Then all the little collisions happening underneath.
