The Story
Echoes in the Silence came from a freedive in Tahiti when I watched a whale descend and everything around me seemed to shut off.
It wasn’t dramatic. It didn’t need to be. The whale simply disappeared into the blue, and for a few seconds I realized I had been holding my breath in more ways than one.
That stillness is what stayed with me—the strange weight of something massive moving with absolutely nothing to prove.
I built the piece around that feeling: movement without chaos, power without noise, and the kind of presence you notice even more once it’s gone.
