The Story
Some paintings you lead. This one had other plans.
I came in hot with Formula One—too much pressure, too much intention, too much trying to force the outcome. And the piece pushed back. Quietly. No drama. Just a steady refusal to become something stiff or overworked.
The shift happened when I stopped trying to drive it. Once I let go, the whole piece opened up. The energy finally had room to move, and what came through felt calmer, stronger, and more sure of itself than anything I could have forced.
That tension is the whole point of this one. A sea turtle named Formula One. One of the slowest creatures, carrying the name of one of the fastest sports. That irony made me love it even more.
This piece is a reminder that speed is not always power. Sometimes power looks unbothered. Sometimes it looks ancient, grounded, and completely uninterested in the rush.
