The Story
Some believe being adrift means being lost. This turtle would disagree.
Painted after a free dive in the current-swept channels of Tahiti, Turtle Drift came from watching a sea turtle do what so many people forget how to do: stop fighting the water and move with it. No panic. No performance. Just full trust in the flow.
That energy is what makes this piece hit. It isn’t passive. It’s grounded. The turtle moves through the current like it knows something the rest of us are still trying to learn—that surrender and direction aren’t opposites.
Layers of international collage, gold leaf, pigment powder, oil paint, and delicate dandelion elements build a surface that shifts with the light and keeps giving the longer you look. There’s movement in it, but also calm—the kind that settles a room without disappearing into the background.
